Choosing your photographer
Having married quite recently, I understand just how much thought and effort goes in to making your day everything that you have both ever dreamed of and just what an array of sometimes mind-boggling choices there are to be made. As a photographer, I was particularly discerning as to who would be documenting our magical day, and the same should be true for you: these are lifetime memories that you are entrusting to your photographer and there are no second takes: I therefore recommend that you spend some considered time not only viewing an array of photographers websites, but also – importantly – speaking to them at length in order to assure yourself that your photographer understands the vision for your day, and are attentive to the finer details: is there, for example, something particularly significant about the name places, the flowers, or the table decorations; is there a particularly special friend or relative who will be attending your wedding that you would dearly love to be photographed with? What about the wedding car? Is there a story behind that which should be documented?
My top wedding day tip…
Perhaps the single best piece of advice that my wife and I received for our wedding day came from, coincidentally, our fantastic photographer and I feel I should pass this wisdom on to you. He simply said: “Your wedding day will pass by in quite a blur of excitement, so remember to take ten or fifteen minutes out of the hustle and bustle of the day, just the two of you, to leave your guests to enjoy themselves whilst you both find somewhere peaceful to be together, to reflect on the day and to simply enjoy being in each others company”.
I very much hope to be a part of your special day. Please contact me should there be anything that you wish to discuss further.
With very best wishes,
